I love teaching.
I finished my undergraduate education in Economics, but I have a very broad range of education from mathematics to ancient history. My tutoring methods heavily revolve around understanding the material through practical examples to help students learn better! I find that when they can tie a problem to something they can see and touch or visualize in the real world, they have a much easier time understanding the material. I help them learn intuitively what the subject is about, so eventually it becomes second nature to them.
I have math tutoring experience at my college for 4 years, and have tutored economics for 2 years. I also have experience teaching Latin and other classical studies like ancient history and mythology.
I have a knack for understanding how individuals learn and have been able to apply their own learning methods to the subject at hand to give them a better and more understanding experience. I love teaching.

Emory is always punctual and also flexible to help meet our family's needs. He has been helping the boys with their high school chemistry class and has helped to improve their grades. He makes them do problems to help them prepare for what they will do in class, and he quizzes them, which is good. They feel comfortable with Emory, and are able to ask him questions that they may not ask their teacher at school. It has been a blessing to have him help with a subject that is over my head!
We thoroughly enjoyed having Emory as a tutor. He worked with both of our sons, and did a fabulous job. He shared his knowledge with patience and was genuinely interested in helping them understand Algebra 1 and 2. We live too far away for us to have him tutor now, but we would have kept him if we could. We recommend him without any reservations! He's amazing!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
