I have taught anthropology and social science courses since 2015. I have a passion for learning, writing and creating! My favorite classes are anthropology, sociology, diversity in America, and Asian history. I not only have visited many countries throughout the world, but I have studied about many cultures and have many artifacts. Some of my favorite cultures are the Yanomamo, Kung, Massai, Aborigine and the Ainu. I love celebrating the differences and similarities we all share on the earth. I also teach about entomophagy, or the act of eating bugs. My MA is in Asian archaeology and culture, and I am currently working on an EdD.

Part of understanding culture is looking at material culture and art. I find artifacts and art as some of the most concrete and symbolic representations of culture. I have studied ancient art to modern art. Some of my favorite art is the Minoan, Egyptian and Cycladic. I have taken courses in Egyptology.

I not only have an interdisciplinary degree in history and culture, but I have visited many historical sites and places around the world. My area of interest is Asia, primarily cultural exchange between China, Korea and Japan in early history. Every semester I share a Chinese New Years Festival with my University students. I believe learning can be educational, but also a lot of fun.

I am excited to have the opportunity to learn and grow with you as my student. Hopefully, you will learn something new and I can bring to life culture and history for you in a fun, unique and vibrant way. Who knows, maybe I will learn something new too! Come with me and we can discover history and the world together through writing, projects and discussion.
