In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Finite Math is often an alternative term for discrete math. I have experience with this at the community college level. Finite math often includes probability, statistics, as well as possibly linear programming, matrices, math modelling, and many other various topics.
Having taught at the high school level, and currently teaching at a local community college and tutoring at that college as well, I have worked with many different topics.
