Wartburg College (Biology)
Hello, my name is Connor. Education has always been a huge part of my life. I graduated from Wartburg College, with a degree in Biology. I plan to attend the University of Iowa's Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program next fall. It is important to me to continue educating myself and others. I am very passionate about educating our youth. I have always loved tutoring but have only recently begun tutoring for a wage. While enrolled in school, scientific and mathematic concepts resonated with me quickly. Often, I would not need to study for exams. My form of studying came from tutoring others. I would bounce around the classroom or library or meet with my peers personally to help them understand the concepts that came so easily to me. I was successful because I could relate with students and explain concepts in terms that they could understand, in a way that professors couldn’t. Sure, I enjoyed getting good grades on exams and classes, but it was more fulfilling to relieve the stress, confusion and uncertainty of my peers as exams approached. I truly love helping others and watching them succeed.
That is why I began tutoring. I know that math and science are daunting subjects and that trying to understand them brings up a lot of stress and confusion. But, educating our youth on these subjects is detrimental to our future. I absolutely want to help my students excel in their classes. Just as importantly, I want to spark their interest in math and science to make learning easy and enjoyable. Since I have begun tutoring I have noticed that I communicate well and articulate concepts and ideas simply. I am very easy to get along with. I do well at making dense and difficult ideas digestible and clarifying students’ questions. Lastly, I make sure to challenge students to learn and not memorize.
I have been tutoring students in math since I was 17. I have always loved learning and helping others with mathematical concepts. Here are my marks for math:
Geometry - A
Algebra II – A
Trigonometry – A
Pre-Calculus – A
AP Calculus – A
Physics – A
Advanced Placement Calculus Exam – 5/5
Statistical Methods – A-
Physics 2 - A
I would like to encourage students to contact me for personal tutoring lessons. If you are struggling in your classes or have difficulty understanding your teacher, I can help you excel. If you need someone to ask questions about new material or need concepts explained in simple terms, I will clarify any confusion. I want to help you. Hello, my name is Connor. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Wartburg College. And I have experience tutoring college students since 2013.
I am a recent college graduate and have been tutoring students since I was in high school. I majored in biology at Wartburg College and got A's in Wartburg's very rigorous anatomy and physiology program. While in this program, I helped many of my fellow students learn and study the concepts and material.
