I am a graduate student in Aerospace Engineering at ISU. I came to the US in 2007 for my Bachelor's degree and I managed to serve in both academia and industry since then as an engineer. I would love to tutor both college and high school students on subjects such as Math, Physics, basics of engineering and computer programming.
I was awarded the departmental award for teaching excellency in 2015 for my contributions towards the fluid dynamics labs (EM 378). I am currently serving as a teaching assistant for the department of Aerospace Engineering.
I believe communication is the key to one's success as a teacher and my teaching philosophy is aligned with that principle. I take pride in teaching STEM subjects and I love to see students enjoying the content and having an easier time grasping concepts.
I have taken Calculus classes during my undergrad career as well as my graduate studies. I use calculus on a day to day basis and I have served as a tutor in calculus through the Hixon-Lied Center.
I have taken the both basic and advanced courses related to Physics and Mechanical engineering principals. I also worked as a teaching assistant supporting instructors and students who are involved in these courses. I excel at: Newtonian Physics of motion; Thermodynamics; Heat Transfer; Fluid Dynamics; Statics; Dynamics; and Mechanics of Materials.
I have proficiency in the following computer related technologies. I acquired necessary skills in these disciplines during my teaching and graduate career at ISU. I am proficient in the following areas: Linux/Unix, MATLAB, FORTRAN, and C++.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have used the Linux operating system throughout my college career and I am very familiar with different operating systems such as Debian, Red Hat,Open Suse and Ubuntu. I predominantly used Linux for scientific computing and I utilized the command line interface (UNIX) for most of my work. I am very fluent in both basic and advanced operations in the system ranging from simple programming to super computing applications.
I have been using MATLAB for the past 9 years for my course work as well as my research. I have also taught MATLAB programming to freshman students in Aerospace Engineering. I am well versed in many embedded technologies and applications such as Simulink and Parallel processing tool boxes.
I am currently in the PhD program in Aerospace engineering which is a branch of Mechanical engineering. I got my BS and MS degrees from Iowa State University and I took courses related to statics, dynamics and mechanics and materials. I have also gained experience in computer aided design (CAD) and I served as a teaching assistant for most of those courses.
