I am currently employed as a Recruiter in the United States Army and always the passion of helping students to excel in academics specially in Mathematics. Since I was a kid I always love learning and always wanted to share it with everyone else. I always help my nieces and nephews with their homework until they asked me to tutor them on certain subject, (i.e. math). I have done that every summer for the past ten years. Being in the Army help me realized that I can teach certain subject since we do a lot of presentation (formal or informal) or just doing some training teaching some military skills. Tutoring approach I do is to foster independence to be able to become independent learners. With this approach it will lead to a unique relationship between tutors and students in that it fosters a mentoring approach that makes students feel supported and cared for.
Also as a recruiter, it is part of our job to make sure that our applicants will pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) which comprises math, comprehension, vocabulary, etc. Also with my educational background in Engineering and Information Technology, I am confident that you will learn so much during our tutor sessions. Following are my favorite subjects that I know I am good in tutoring: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations. What I do love about tutoring or teaching is the feeling that you experienced when somebody learned something new. Sometimes they thought it was hard to do something but when you show them how to do it, it wasn't that bad. It motivates me to share some good information because I know that knowledge is power. Learn now rather than later. You probably telling yourself that you don't need certain subject to be successful in the future, but in today's culture to be successful is that you need to be the jack's of all trade ( they call it the renaissance man). If you are eager to learn, I can mentor you and be that successful person you envision. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
