University of Notre Dame (Political Science)
My background: recently exited the Army with an honorable discharge after 4.5 years of service as an Infantry officer. Prior to commissioning, I received my bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana (3.54 GPA), and before that I attended St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH. High school was one of the happiest times in my life. I played football--or maybe more accurately was on the football team, since I very rarely saw the field during games--and ran track while earning a 4.2 GPA, putting me in the top 30 students in my class of over 300. I scored a 2250 on the SAT's with a combined 1450 on English and Math.
Your background: eager to learn, ready for a change, demanding more of yourself and seeking an opportunity to improve yourself, make your parents proud, provide for a family, and just be a good person. Just like I was. I can help you get there (except maybe the good person part, that's on you!), and I promise we'll both have fun doing it provided you have that eagerness to learn. The "accomplishments" I listed above are just my way of establishing credibility. I've been given a lot in this life and I hope I've done something to make the lives of people around me better. Here's an opportunity for me to help you learn and for you to give me the satisfaction of making a difference again. Glad to turn in the rifle and the army boots and lend you a hand.
Math didn't come naturally to me, so I had to put in a lot of time and effort to learn it and still get A- or As. I understand the frustration that comes with learning that way, and I can see it from your perspective.
ACT Science boils down to reading comprehension. If we crack open a prep book together over the internet, I can help you find the answer without having to do any scientific wizardry. Sound good? Me too.
Reading and writing are my academic strengths. I don't know the exact breakdown, but I scored a 31 on the ACT and my highest scores were in English.
Learning doesn't have to be painful. Find the right approach, understand it's going to set you up for success in the future, get it done quickly but professionally, and go spend time with your friends or family. Being a student is such a great life, and you won't have these years again! My background: recently exited the Army with an honorable discharge after 4.5 years of service as an Infantry officer. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My combined score on the ACT was a 31. I'll be uploading my test scores soon, but Reading was the easiest part for me. I can definitely help you score better.
