Bio

I have been an Educational Assistant from 2003-2014. I became a certified Substitute teacher in 2014, and still currently hold that license. I am receiving my Masters degree in Elementary Education, and teacher license. I have completed all coursework, and am only waiting on my student teaching to complete the program.

I have been in the department of education for over ten years, and worked in so many areas that I have done it all!

I have been in the department of education for over ten years, and worked in so many areas that I have done it all!

What really makes me stand out from other tutors, and teachers, is that I am a video game junky, so I have used Minecraft, and other relevant games to help bring concepts to life!

I have a great reputation as a teacher, and substitute teacher in the schools where I work, with 100% parent and student satisfaction. Most parents and students request me as a teacher whenever possible, and teachers request me specifically as a sub when they are out, long term or short term.

I enjoy making things fun, and working with students to help them truly understand what they need to, while building their confidence. Working with Elementary and Middle school students is my number one passion. However, I also enjoy working with high school students and college students. I have tutored masters’ level students in the field of education, and have an overwhelmingly positive response.

I am available online during most times and days, unless it is a school day ;)
My hourly rate is $40, I keep it low so that I can help as many students as possible. I look forward to working with you, or your child today!

I have spent a great deal of time working with Special Education students, and have developed a wide array of strategies to help break down math in such a way that it is easy for students to understand.

Reading is all about repetition. The more you read the better you will become! However, comprehension and vocabulary is where most children struggle. I use guided questioning, and study skills to teach students how to pin point key information, and learn how to read for understanding. Context clues and word parts are a great way to help students when it comes to building vocabulary!

I have been working with the common core since it was first introduced; in fact, our school adopted it before it was required.

I have worked in elementary for over ten years, and have taught preschool to 6th grade, from the high achieving students to special education students. I break things down, and make it easy to understand. I encourage thinking, and teach students how to think about the problems. I NEVER give students answers, but I will teach them how to find them with the skills and tools that I encourage.

My only regret has been that I can only help students who are placed in my class. Using WyzAnt, I can now reach a whole other group of children! It also gives my former students a chance to get any help they may need once they leave my class. I look forward to helping you, or your child, to empower yourself, and achieve greatness!!!!
