Hey all! My name is Greer! I am currently a Master's student working on my degree in Public Health, so I know how much fun college can be (or not). So much fun in fact, I did it twice! I have two undergraduate degrees: one in public health (2011) and one in Biology and Human Health Sciences (2015). I can definitely help middle school, high school, and college level students with all of your pesky biology and organic chemistry needs! I also enjoy attempting to make a sometimes boring subject fun, or at least helping students know how science is applied in real-life situations!
I have been a TA and a tutor during my time in college, and I absolutely love helping students attain better knowledge of science and in result, better grades. I am also knowledgeable in helping students write cohesive and exemplary science papers--this can include anything from article summaries and/or literature reviews. I am also intimately familiar with APA formatting.
I have taken multiple courses from several different institutions on biology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and organic chemistry.
I know how hard these classes are, and there is zero shame in needing some help with them! I also understand that not everyone learns the same way (I sure don't!) so I like to find the best avenue of tutoring for each student.
If you think we'd be a great fit, please contact me and we can set up a meeting! Hey all! My name is Greer! If more than 1 person wishes to be tutored at once, rates will be $30 per student per hour. Multiple hour lessons (2+ hours at once) will be $35 per hour
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took college level Organic Chemistry at Hawaii Pacific University in 2014 and received an A for Organic Chemistry I and a solid B in Organic Chemistry II. I would have received an A for the second semester if it were not for MC sections of the tests.
I also tutored for the school on a volunteer basis in Organic Chemistry, Anatomy, and Biology
