I’m confident that my unique skill set – valuable, international teaching experience, professional, yet personalized approach, passion for my craft and exemplary work ethic will make a significant contribution to your your son/daughter's English conversation goals. To that end, I’m determined to facilitate my students in their quest to improve their communicative skills, thereby, empowering their scholastic and career objectives and broadening their bright horizons!
Having been described as an exceptional educator, I’m genuinely dedicated to my student’s progress. I understand how essential an effective academic tutoring/mentoring programming is, when combined with an enthusiastic, expert educator and I’m keenly aware of the dynamics, learning processes and innate challenges involved in studying/practicing English Conversation. Fortunate, to have studied and taught in numerous countries, immersed in their cultures (Japan, Malta, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Canada and the U.S.), I’ve experienced and amassed an especially acute awareness, ardent appreciation and savvy understanding of humanity, complimented by the reward of enlightenment!
My background is both rich and varied. In addition to earning a professional teaching degree, with Visual Arts and French-certifications, an Adult Education Specialist certificate, I’m accredited as an International TESL and CELTA instructor, I’ve earned a History of Art and Architecture Specialist degree, I’m a qualified Interior Designer and Fine Art Consultant and have curatorial/management and advanced teaching/training experience within prestigious, higher academic institutions.
Optimism, insightfulness, passion for my craft, effective interpersonal skills, international life experience, resourcefulness, flexibility, maturity, multi-lingual ability (English, French, Czech, Polish and Japanese) and poised demeanor have served me well, thus far. Even, as I’ve arrived at a place of respect for various perspectives and ideologies, my mind is still open to enjoy learning from my students, each day. A self-proclaimed “forever student at heart,” constantly eager to expand the breadth and depth of my knowledge, coupled with an active lifestyle, insatiable curiosity, adventurous spirit and vibrantly colourful personality, I’m certain to enhance your student experience and inspire their success, with my “Carpe Diem” approach to learning and life!
I believe joy, laughter and a spirit of camaraderie are definite assets and perhaps the greatest motivators inside and outside of the classroom, therefore, I choose to instill those virtues in my classroom climate and in my private lessons!
With over twenty years of pedagogical experience, international ESL specialization and immersion in the Arts, I still remain amazed by the energy which arises from inspiring thirsty minds, along their personal journeys of self-discovery, through the myriad of challenges and accomplishments education, at the upper levels presents! The essence of education, with its potent power to connect humanity, engendering communication, shifting global consciousness - excites me! This is the spirit which drives me to be an impassioned English Conversation educator, enthusiastic advocate of the Arts and avid humanitarian.
Finally, on a more personal note, I choose to live with integrity, spirituality, respect and grace - a decision which continues to positively enhance my teaching career and my life, as does the following Japanese mantra, “Kaizen.”
I’m confident that my unique skill set – valuable, international teaching experience, professional, yet personalized approach, passion for my craft and exemplary work ethic will make a significant contribution to your your son/daughter's English conversation goals.
