UH Manoa (English)
I attended Hawaii Baptist Academy from K-12 and am currently an English major at the University of Hawaii, at Manoa. I love English and reading and have excelled in writing my entire life. I have taken subjects such as AP Literature and Composition, as well as college courses regarding rhetoric, writing, and literature. I scored a 5 on my AP Literature exam and have a true passion for all things English!
I love working with other people and am very patient. Everyone is capable of succeeding if they have the right support and drive! I have access to reliable transportation and am very prompt when it comes to responding to calls, emails, or texts. I have a great understanding of what to look for in academic writing of all sorts and am more than willing to work until a goal is reached. I specialize in academic essay writing and have formulated a few easy and simple systems to create fluid and eloquent pieces!
I have experience in reading, writing, and vocabulary and absolutely love all things literary! Even outside of classes do I continue to learn and absorb as much knowledge about the literary world as I can. I have taken the ACT twice and am very familiar with its contents and what to watch out for. I also have access to many resources regarding linguistics and English and am excited to share and spread as much help as I can!
I am also experienced in journalistic writing as I was the editor of my high school's newspaper for two years. While there, I also had an article chosen to be published in the Huffington Post. Our high school newspaper team also won first place in the state for 2015 in the Hawaii High School Journalism Awards.
Please do not hesitate to contact me! I have a very flexible schedule, though I do have classes during the week (mornings), which would probably be during a student's regular school time anyway. I am excited to hear from you and ready to help you achieve your goals! I attended Hawaii Baptist Academy from K-12 and am currently an English major at the University of Hawaii, at Manoa. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
