Hello, I have the Hawaii teaching license as well as one from New Mexico. Both are current. I also tutored at Sylvan Learning Centers for seven years in Begining Reading, basic Math, Writing, ACTs, SATs and Accelerated Reading. I am on the Hawaii Public Schools substitute teacher list. My teaching fields are English, German, Social Studies (World History, US History, AP US History and Psychology.
I spent most of my adult life in Hawaii, I travel a lot and enjoy new places and cultures. As a teacher I have time to do this. I enjoy working with students of all ages. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
