About Elisapeta

I started teaching when I was still in high school, under my father's supervision who is a previous university lecturer. Last year, I taught students in Malua Fou College, while I was attending the National University of Samoa.
I graduated last year in Samoa as a Foundation Science Student, and am now admitted into University of Hawaii in Hilo for further studies. I majored in Mathematics and Science, and hope to become a doctor in the future, and become a teacher as a side job. Teaching has become one of my hobbies, and mathematics as my best subject.
I teach trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra and Linear Algebra. I make my own notes and exercises for students, and hold them to high expectations.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have taught all three types of math to high school students for two years. I taught them for free under the base of learning. My father always said that teaching student helps you revise your previous basics, and that is why I teach. I taught students for free, because I knew that I can learn from it. Two of my students came first in their class which was year 9 and year 10 and one of my students skipped year 11 and went up to year 12 and most of them had 90s for their math. For me success is enough payment for my work.

Biology

Biology is my field of study. I have studied biology since I was seven and still studying hoping to become a doctor. I have had two years of teaching experience with high school students in Samoa and have developed ways to make biology learning fun and easy for children. I hope to help children develop skills and knowledge and hope to encourage them to study in a more fun way. I teach students using skills of observation, note taking and other activities. This helps to connect with children and help to keep then alert and interested.

Geometry

I have two years experience in teaching students in high school. I have good grades in mathematics. I am happy to teach students and at the same time learn from them too. Math is my favorite subject and I am willing to teach the students and find ways to help them develop their skills and knowledge in math and help them feel the same way about math the way I feel.

Linear Algebra

I have taught algebra for three years and last year I got a degree for Foundation Science Majoring in Mathematics and Science.

Prealgebra

I learned pre-algebra in 8th grade and last year I attended Foundation in Samoa studying science majoring Biology and Mathematics studying algebra 2 and Calculus 2 and I graduated on December with the Honors degree in Foundation Mathematics and Science.

I started teaching under the supervision of my father who was also my tutor in mathematics he was my inspiration in math and statistics. I started teaching students in High school when I was 16 years old as a hobby. Teaching students made me try harder in school so that I can learn more to be able to teach the children what I know.
