College of Coastal Georgia/University of Georgia (Mathematic Education)
I'm Trenice, and I love to dance, sing, draw designs, and help students succeed in math. I have my own dance group, and we travel with dance. As a former graduate from The University of Georgia, I have my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education. I began college at Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Ga. and worked with the Student Support and became a certified tutor through weeks of training. I learned and applied a broad range of teaching strategies and differentiating lessons for learning styles, which enriched every experience the students encountered. I have 14 years of tutoring experience and love doing it.
Many students got to know me through the college because I tutored all levels of math and made tests for them to assess their learning. I love getting to meet and know more people. I love the excitement students get when they finally understand a concept. I tutor after school and in the homes. I have had a great success rate with my students, and they have passed their classes. Overall, I love to see students succeed in math.
I truly believe that we are all lifelong learners and having a great rapport with students is very important. I believe that building positive relationships with students, using a variety of teaching/instructional strategies, and creating a learning environment that will encourage social interactions, active engagement, and self-motivation will help students love what they are doing. A great teacher has passion for what they do, has good leadership skills, and is a good listener. I have experience in tutoring and teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Elementary Math, ACT math, and some Geometry and Trig.
You are welcome to contact me anytime for the summer. I do create scheduled times during the school year when I return back to school. I look forward to working with you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
