Hi! I am Kristen! I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Middle School Education. I went on to get a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and also certification in teaching Gifted and Talented. I taught for 12 years before deciding to take time off to be home with my children. During my teaching career, I was extensively trained in Learning Focused. I also helped our county implement and facilitate the Project Lead the Way grant. I participated in doing all of the curriculum mapping for the new Science standards for our district. Finally, I was a science ambassador for the state of Georgia.
As a child, I struggled in math for quite some time. However, in 8th grade, I had one of the most amazing math teachers ever. She made my lightbulb turn on and math has been my first love ever since. She made a lasting impression on me and because of this, I have always tried to help students find a way to understand content that works for them. I will strive to help you break past your frustrations by trying new and different approaches to learning that meet your needs.

I have had extensive training in the rollout of common core math standards as well as the curriculum mapping for the school district. I love math. I love finding new learning approach’s to content that helps students better understand and grasp the concept. My students have always scored very well on state testing.
