Hello, my name is Manjish N. I am an electrical engineer by profession but tutoring math is my passion. I have tutored various high school and college level math courses over the past 5 years. My expertise lies in linear algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, precalculus, calculus, discrete math, probability and statistics. Seeing students succeed gives me great pleasure and I work with them constantly to get feedback on the concepts being taught. That helps me understand if they are following or if I need to reinforce the topic. I believe that every student learns in a different way and at a different speed. Hence I don't use a one size fits all methodology but rather take the time to teach the student in the way they learn best.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Algebra 1 to several students in middle and high school. I am well aware of the topics in this course such as linear equations, quadratic equations and exponential functions. I usually spend enough time on basics and then build on the concepts to reinforce greater understanding.
I have taught Algebra 2 to various students over the past 5 years. I am well aware of the topics involved in this course such as logarithms, functions, trigonometry etc. I spend enough time on the fundamental concepts and then build on it to reinforce greater understanding of the subject matter.
I have taught calculus over the past 5 years or so. I am well aware of the topics like limits, continuity, derivatives, integration and applications to real life problems. An example of such an application was when I was teaching an AP Calc student derivatives or the rate of change and worked with him to calculate the rate at which his height changed over time using the height chart on a wall that his dad had used to record his height meticulously over the past 10-15 years. I not only know how to approach and solve calculus problems, but I also know the "why" behind them and can teach these concepts effectively. Being an electrical engineer and having a master's degree, I have taken various advanced level calculus courses all throughout high school and college.
I have taken Linear Algebra in various forms including the basics in high school and college courses. I am adept at matrix manipulations such as inverse, additions, subtractions, adjoints, transposes, orthogonal and orthonormal matrices and Ax=B type problems. I have taught linear algebra to various students over the past 5 years or so. I even had the benefits of learning linear algebra from an online course at MIT by professor Gilbert Strang.
I have taught several students pre algebra over the past 5 years. I am well aware of the topics involved in this course such as functions, rational numbers, arithmetics etc. I spend enough time on fundamental concepts and then build on them to reinforce a greater understanding.
