My name is Ann. I got my Ph.D. in Chinese American literature from Emory University. I have taught Chinese language at all levels at the university level for 20 years and tutored young and adult learners for many years. I co-authored a book A Chinese Grammar for English Speakers, which compares Chinese grammar with English to make learning Chinese more accessible and fun. I enjoy teaching and always explore new ways to meet students’ individual needs and learning styles. Moreover, I help students develop learning skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
