I'm passionate about math and helping students learn. The US trails other countries in learning even basic math and science skills. Often youth don't realize the simple real life applications that would intrigue them and make them more interested to learn math, such as shopping and driving. I strive to bring those concepts to life and to create an interesting and fun approach to learning. I have also successfully tutored others in a private center as well.
As an engineering student with a minor in math in college, I was required to take Calculus 1, 2, and 3, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, and even Differential Equations. These are commonly thought of as additional levels of Calculus. My love is by far the different types of Algebra because of its practical nature.

I hired Ramon to prepare my son for the SAT Math section of the SAT exam. Ramon is knowledgeable and extremely patient. My son immediately connected with Ramon and felt comfortable under his tutelage. Soon after we begun our sessions Ramon moved from our area which created a challenge, but he was extremely considerate and accommodated us by agreeing to meet at a location that was equidistant to our homes. He is punctual, articulate, and takes his role as a tutor seriously. I would highly recommend Ramon.
Ramon was very helpful in tutoring my son over the past three months. During crunch time, close to finals he was flexible and increased the time from 60 minutes to 90 minutes per session. Most important was he seemed to take a real interest in my sons achievement which made me feel that Ramon's personality (not just his math skills) are/were an important factor in effectively tutoring a student. He even attempted to go out of his way while he/his family were going through very difficult personal matters, to make himself available. My son has considerable work to do in order to get his grades up but Ramon would be my first choice if i look for a tutor in September.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra is not to be feared, but should excite learners. Why? Because whether you realize it or not, it has so many practical applications in life. Once a student realizes the potential of what he or she can achieve by learning Algebra, they become excited and incentivized to learn more. I strive to bring out that excitement and passion through learning, and TOGETHER we can achieve more!
Algebra is an exciting subject, since it has so many real world applications. As you can see from my other descriptions, I'm passionate about learning math. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Geometry seems difficult initially. There are many formulas to learn and apply. However, a student can master this subject by understanding many of the fundamental concepts that build upon one another. Please contact me for assistance.
Using Microsoft Outlook is second nature to me. I use it daily in my corporate life, and I'm always teaching other "tips and tricks". Many don't know how to take full advantage of the system, such as utilizing follow-ups for others, categorizing, or setting expiration dates. I will show you not only the basics, but how to leverage Microsoft Outlook to its fullest.
I am part of the new generation and have been using computers all my life. My degree is in computer engineering and my career is in Information Technology. I have also built computers and installed countless software programs. I have untold experience with Microsoft Windows.
Pre-algebra sets the foundation for most math to come, and I love teaching it to give our students a great start!
SAT is a key factor for college admissions, and it's critical students do well. Unlike classroom math, the only objective on the SAT is to answer correctly. The SAT also penalizes for incorrect answers, so many students are afraid of guessing. HOWEVER, guessing is ok, IF you have the correct strategy and understand how the system and scoring works. I focus on the concepts AS WELL AS test taking strategies, which are EQUALLY important to pass the SAT. (I also tutor SAT Math at a certified learning center, so have the prerequisite experience.)
