About Ebone

I grew up in the beautiful Virgin Islands, where I obtained my Bachelors Degree. I came to Georgia to start my career as an educator. I will be attending Mercer University next fall where I would be working toward a Masters in Teaching focusing on Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Studies.

In the year of 2012 I had the opportunity of working at a summer school program, teaching 5th grade math. I fell in love instantly. I was then asked to teach at the school 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts and World History full time. There’s no better feeling than seeing your students and the expression on their face when they get it and want to learn more. I love to teach hands-on. Creative lesson plans and an infinite amount of energy is what I consider my niche. I had the privilege of being trained to use the Common Core Curriculum. Though, it was a challenge, I prevailed and incorporated my creative ways to make learning much more fun and engaging for the students.

Tutoring is another way for me to help a student learn, understand, and feel confident in themselves. When they have someone that is willing to sit with them, listen, and find ways for them to understand just a little better, is a great way to build a solid foundation for a successful individual. I will give full reports of your work, based on your homework as well as your assessments.

My base pay is at $50 and hour, I am available weekdays from 3 pm to 9 pm and weekends from 9 am to 9 pm. I can travel and meet with students or we can set up a lesson online.

I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Humanities with a concentration in Speech Communication and Theater as well as a Minor in Communications. Throughout my college career I joined the Theater Club as well as the Media Club where annunciation, pronunciation, and diaphragmatic breathing is key. I will be able to help you speak clear and concise, and also teach you ways of getting rid of jitters and ticks, such as moving and fast talking.

They say English is the most complex language to learn, but when you have a passion just to teach someone the different ways to spell their, there, and they're that simply shows that it can't be that hard. I enjoy finding helpful ways to explain a story or simply expressing a sentence in a speech. English is much more fun than you think, it all depends on how much you are willing to learn and how far are you willing to expand your vocabulary.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your goals!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Softball

I played softball from 8th through my senior year of high school. My Junior and senior year I was captain. In college I played for two years on two different teams in two different leagues (slow pitch and fast pitch). My positions were 1st, 2nd, left and right field. I was also the assistant coach for a Varsity girls team.

Volleyball

I played volleyball my entire high school career. My position was blocker and outside hitter. I also played inter mural in college for two years, where I played the same positions.
