Hello and thanks for taking the time to check out my profile!
As a compassionate German teacher, I've always prioritized fostering safe learning spaces. For me, it is of the utmost importance that my students are comfortable making mistakes and know that I am there to support their growth. I'the type of teacher who encourages and patiently prompts students to apply the knowledge they possess to problem solve during exercises.
I've taught introductory level German (e.g. 101/102, 110/111) in K-12 classrooms and at the collegiate level. My classroom experience amounts to three years; I've also tutored small groups as well as one-on-one clients. I would be more than happy to assist you with homework, test prep and/or review, and offer many examples following explanations. I do also feel comfortable tutoring higher levels, having studied German and lived and worked in Germany, too.
I'm currently working on a PhD in German studies (not linguistics!), focusing on postwar children's literature. I have a Med in Foreign Language Acquisition and a BA in German studies.
