I have a wide range of experience. I have taught math, science, social studies, and Language Arts to students in grades k-5. I have also home-schooled my own son so I am very comfortable with one-on-one teaching as well as small & large classroom groups. I have tutored ESOL students from Bosnia, African and Mexico just to name a few. I have also helped adults learn the English language.

As an educator I strive to meet the needs of each student. I do informal assessments to determine where we should begin and then I create my lesson plans based on the student's specific needs. I am dedicated, patient and results oriented. I give my students a variety of opportunities to acquire the needed knowledge with positive feedback and reinforcement.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified elementary teacher in grades K-5 and I hold an ESOL (teaching students where English is their second language) certificate. I graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in early childhood education. I have always loved to teach as far back as I can remember. I enjoy teaching large groups as well as one-on-one. I am as happy as my students when the light bulb comes on for them, when they truly get it.
Study Skills

Study Skills

The first skill I teach my students on the road to acquiring study skills is to first get organized. I teach them how to effectively take notes, how to identify and highlight important information and how to study in small chunks to avoid overload and cramming at the last minute.
