Franklin College (History, Poli Sci)
University of Chicago (Master's)
Hello! My specialty is in the Social Sciences and Humanities, and I'm really looking forward to tutoring History, Government, Politics, and Spanish. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Franklin College, which is a small liberal arts school in Indiana with a BA in History, Political Science, and Spanish. I worked there as a Teaching Assistant for the New Student Seminar, which helped incoming freshmen to learn about the college I then moved to the prestigious University of Chicago to obtain my MA degree in Latin American Studies, with a specialty in the Southern Cone. My own research revolves around gender and women during the time period of the Dirty War in Argentina. Following my recent graduation from Chicago, I moved here to Georgia to work at Kennesaw State University as the Coordinator of the Masters Program in American Studies.
While I enjoy my job, my true passion is teaching students, which is why I am looking forward to getting to know you! I prefer for my students to come to me prepared with questions that we can then spend time resolving them, as I have found that it is much easier to teach when there are tangible things to be completed. This is oftentimes assigned homework by the teacher, which I request that students review before coming to me. The more they complete before our meeting, the more time we will have to review it and learn the things that are most difficult. However, I am also willing to make my own lesson plans and use my own materials for an additional (small) fee if you are not currently enrolled in the course, which works particularly well for those interested in learning Spanish outside of the classroom. I believe that all students are capable of learning anything that they set their mind to, which is why I enjoy teaching so much. I love helping my students to realize their full potential and giving them an opportunity to learn about the subject outside of the hurried classroom environment. One-on-one tutoring is my specialty, but I am willing to do group classes for a lower rate provided that the students already know one another and are comfortable with it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
History has always been my passion, which is why I majored in it in college and finished my BA with a 4.0 GPA. I am particularly knowledgeable regarding American history, as I currently serve as a program coordinator for a MA in American studies.
My interest in the field lies specifically in the Civil War, but I know a great deal about the country from its foundation to the present.
I played basketball throughout middle and high school, playing varsity for four years. I intended to play in college until I torn my meniscus, but continue to enjoy the sport. While in high school, I served as our point guard while we won several County Tournaments and Sectional games. I still hold school records in several areas, including most three pointers in a game/season/career, most blocks in a season, and most assists in a game.
Spanish is my passion, which is why I studied it for nearly nine years. I spent four years of high school learning the language, which helped me to complete my Spanish major with a 4.0 GPA. I also used it in my MA program in Latin American Studies. I have traveled to both Spain and Argentina for extended periods of time, and I am familiar with both the European and the Latin American dialect.
