About Stephanie

Hello future successful students!

I take this opportunity to let you know that we will do our best to excel in whatever subject you choose within my abilities.

First and foremost, I am a Christian! I enjoy working with kids and adults and believe that education, in balance with other priorities in life, provides access to the successful future that we all deserve.

I currently work as a professional at Georgia Institute of Technology and have enjoyed the energetic educational environment. It has given me the desire to see more students succeed!

In school and even careers, writing is the lens that the reader sees you through so it's important to give it your best shot! It is also a great way to stand out in our current society because it is becoming a lost "art" as we are trending full speed towards the digital age.

I don't believe in one specific method because we are all unique and learn at different paces with various approaches.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I have always found the Bible fascinating and enjoy expounding on the written word of God. I have been a born-again Christian - specifically Apostolic - since the age of 8 and have been a student of the Bible since that time. I have read the Bible through approximately 7 times and have a grasp on many subjects. I also enjoy peer counseling with friends and acquaintances using the principles of the Bible.

Proofreading

Proofreading qualifications are legitimate and superior because of my prior background in editing legal documents when I was a legal assistant and paralegal in a high-profile law firm that had clients that relied on flawless expertise.

Other proofreading skills stem from my experience as a fundraiser at Georgia State University. Often I was submitting grants/proposals to major corporations or nonprofit organizations where accuracy, clarity and competency was key in order to receive funds.

My current position at Georgia Tech involves constant communication with elected officials. Because of the high profile nature of my job, there is no room for error and I must use the highest level of accuracy in written communication.

Reading

While earning my undergraduate degree at Wesleyan College, I had the opportunity to volunteer for Project Read. The main goal of the program was to improve reading skills for individuals (often adults) for them to become socially and academically functional and on their grade/age level.

I was trained in the Laubach Literacy program (currently named ProLiteracy) which not only discussed the content but also the importance of relating and communicating in an encouraging way.
