Hello. My name is Mrs. Clark. I am a mom, first to 3 beautiful children. I have also been school volunteer for 14 years in multiple schools. I also substitute teach, which keeps me on my toes. At a moments notice, I must be ready to teach any subject in any grade from kindergarten to 8th grade. I do not believe in going in and turning on a movie. Teachers have deadlines, and when they are out, we must keep moving and keep learning.

One of my favorite stories is from last fall when I went into a 3rd grade classroom, and they were to learn division for the first time. I went over how to do division, and we practiced. And after multiple practice problems, the whole class asked me if we could keep doing division for the rest of the day because it was "fun," they said. I felt very accomplished after that:)

Math can seem daunting; however, I can teach children how to do math one step at a time. The students whom I teach in math ask me to give them "extra" problems for fun!

English was always my best subject in school. I enjoy grammatically correct work, and polished papers.

I do believe that teaching is my "calling." I have been blessed with my own children whom I have taught throughout the years, and then I became a substitute teacher. As a substitute, I must be ready and able to teach all subjects to a wide range of ages, from k-8.

I enjoy my role as teacher, and I enjoy watching kids succeed. My heart feels full when I have taught children a new concept, and they enjoy what they have learned, asking for "more". I take my responsibility seriously because I know that what they are learning now becomes the foundation for life.

I began teaching several years ago. First, unofficially, then officially as a substitute teacher. I believe this is my calling. I feel so much joy when I teach children a new concept, and they "get it". As a substitute, I must be ready to teach any subject from k-8. I know this experience prepares me for teaching other children as well. I love science and enjoy the different aspects of elementary science. I believe in having fun while learning. If I can make learning a subject like science a game, I do. I like to use extra materials like flash cards and material from different sources. I love learning and I like to pass that on to the students I teach. Feel free to contact me and we can move ahead on the path of greater learning!
Elementary Math,

Elementary Math

When I teach at school in the different grade levels, I try to make math fun. What they are learning in elementary school math will be building blocks for all of the math to follow. I am happy to say that my students actually come to me, asking me for additional math problems to do for fun! This is a highlight of my day as I feel I must be doing something right!

I have taught handwriting skills for years, for all ages and for special Ed. I like to use the lined paper and flash cards for writing technique and practice.

Reading

I have mentored in the schools for years and have been a substitute as well. Experience is the best teacher! I enjoy working with children and helping them to learn. Countless times in working with children, I get to see that "lightbulb moment." This is my goal every time I am helping to learn a new concept.

Very impressed

You know when a person has the gift to teach. Shauna was all I hoped for and more. She went over her assessment and plans. You know you have found the right person when your child says I enjoyed that.

Great Teacher, Very Very Patient!

Shana C. is amazing. This was my daughter's first lesson however I can tell my daughter loved it. She was so patient (my daughter is very talkative). She engaged her constantly and kept bringing her back in when my daughter would go off topic. My daughter loves to read however, she has begun to not like it as much when she has to do it with myself or her dad. When it was time to leave my daughter asked if we were coming back! Amazing progress in just 1 lesson.
