Curiosity, perseverance and love of the truth has guided me through my career as a chemist. I am continuing on into the fortieth year of my industrial career. I am not ready to fully retire yet, and may never be. I enjoy imparting my knowledge and skills. I do this informally with friends and family who sometimes call me The Professor or Doctor Pete :)
I have had the privilege of training and mentoring many coworkers and students in the laboratory and at the desktop. My motivation is knowing the success of my colleagues, associates and students. Success and happiness are realized when we get out and work at a job that we love! The gain of knowledge through diligence and perseverance will lead to that job.
We all have our unique abilities and innate intelligence. A student may at times need special guidance in order to excel at certain courses of study. I like to use the abilities and interests of my students to motivate and guide them through their subject matter. My benchmarks will be the improvement of my grades of my students, and their subsequent graduation.
I specialize in tutoring GED, math, science and Microsoft Excel. These are subjects and tools that I have used in my career. Organic chemistry is a hurdle that may be cleared after special study and discussion. Proficiency in basic mathematics and calculus can often be attained from just going over homework assignments. Completing special problems also helps. Microsoft Excel is awesome software that can be readily learned with hands-on training. Excel easily and elegantly solves mathematical and technical problems with basic spreadsheets, statistics, and charts.
I would ask for feedback from my students so I may continually hone my teaching. I will not bill for a lesson of which the student is not completely satisfied. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. I offer makeup classes. My schedule is flexible.
A quiet and comfortable study space is essential. We could meet at a place of choosing for the student or the family of the student. I would be happy to travel around the Savannah area to meet at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from you and working toward your success!
My knowledge of calculus and statistics allows me to design concrete exercises geared to the students knowledge.
I love the physical and life sciences. They lead us to practical solutions to human problems. My knowledge of chemistry and the life sciences allows me impart a love of the subjects.
I have used Microsoft Excel from the time it became an industrial too, i.e. some time in the 80s. I am proficient in MS Excel.
I would love to hear from you about where you are in your studies. I guess initially we are only to communicate on the website and by e-mail. So let's hear from you! Tap or point and click on my profile. Looking forward to it. Curiosity, perseverance and love of the truth has guided me through my career as a chemist. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
