I have a degree in Early Childhood Education from Spelman College. I have a Reading Endorsement. During 20 plus years of teaching, I’ve successfully shared my love of learning and appreciation for high achievement with my elementary students. I specialize in tutoring math, reading and English skills. I nurture youngsters to become skilled readers, writers and mathematicians who are not only comfortable performing to the best of one’s ability on exams but also with demonstrating practical applications of skills. Through routine assessments and the use of multiple instructional approaches that best address a student’s individual learning style, students are better able to understand and become comfortable completing those academic tasks that were once overpowering. In doing so, students should become better problem solvers which is a life building skill.
I try to be flexible with time. While I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I offer makeup classes. To ensure that students have a quiet and comfortable space to work with me, I prefer meeting in a private room of a public library.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
