I have over 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring on grammar and language-arts related subjects. I possess a Master's Degree in English from the University of Dallas and an undergraduate English degree from Emory University.
Having worked as a full-time English instructor for 11 years, and as a part-time tutor and instructor before, during and immediately after attending graduate school, I have come into contact with a wide spectrum of students with varying personalities, ethnicities, and learning styles. I have greatly enjoyed the numerous opportunities I have had to interact with young people and help them increase their proficiency in grammar, writing, English, and related topics.
My greatest strength as an instructor is that I maintain a passionate interest in the subject matter (I am a published author with a great love of language), while at the same time a patience and compassion for my students and a conscientious degree of attention to their individual needs.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
