Jerome is very knowledgeable and competent in statistics at a masters level. I am fortunate to have received his support! I recommend him to anyone struggling with this course.

Dr. L is extremely patient, kind, and smart. Most importantly, he knows how to break down tough physics concepts into more simple ideas. I enjoy his company.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have helped many students study for the ACT/SAT exams. I find that on average I materially improve their scores. I work with students on an individual basis, I focus on their learning styles and their skills. On standardized tests I also offer a unique analytical approach on test taking techniques.

I find the best way to teach Algebra is to link the so-called new skills to prior knowledge. Most of algebraic thinking involves the extension of the basic four operations, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, to variables. By linking the use of variables to the basic arithmetic skills I find that I can eliminate the mystery and challenge of Algebra and I can encourage each student to teach himself or herself. This student-centered approach is very effective since it also builds student confidence.

I've taught algebra II to hundreds of students over the course of my teaching career. I am completely familiar with the core curriculum. I am particularly skilled at making mathematics intelligible and fun for all students.

I start all test preparation tutoring with an evaluation of the student's skills that are to be tested. I then teach those skills, and I finalize the tutoring with test practice secessions under actual test conditions.

I taught calculus and I have successfully tutored both AP Calculus and college calculus. My students always show dramatic improvement because I focus on their particular needs and the critical elements of calculus, the concept of limit, the chain and product rules for differentiation, and the definite and indefinite integral and it's applications.

I took the California CBEST exam, which I passed with a perfect score.

I am currently tutoring students in chemistry, physics and math at the AP and college level. I have a PhD in applied physics with an emphasis on mathematics.

I have taken graduate courses in ordinary differential equations, advanced ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and advanced partial differential equations. In addition, I took advanced complex variables which explains many of the concepts of integration with singularities within the domain of integration and the convergence or lack of convergence of infinite series.

I have a teaching credential that qualifies me to teach students with diverse needs; this includes English language learners and students with learning disabilities. I have also had training in the essential skills that most impact a student's development. Finally, I have had training at all levels of child development. I believe I can teach young children in a way they learn best.

I was a math department chair at a nationally recognized blue ribbon school. I designed curriculum for all math levels from grade six upward.

I have taken courses at the graduate level in matrix algebra, probability theory, linear algebra and advanced calculus. I also taught courses that included these topics. Furthermore, I applied all these topics to problems I encountered over my long career.

I have helped many students prepare for standardized tests as I have taught methods for optimizing standardized test scores.

I was the math department chairperson at a national blue ribbon school before retiring. I chose to specialize in Geometry because the visual nature of the topic proved interesting. I approach Geometry intuitively without losing touch with rigor. My students sense my enthusiasm for the subject and respond with their own enthusiasm.

I am also an engineer so my approach to the teaching of math includes lots of real-life problems. Geometry is particularly suitable to this approach since it attempts to understand spatial relationships.

I taught aspects of linear algebra as part of a precalculus course where I taught determinants and their use in solving linear equations with multiple unknowns and it's use to determine if a system has a unique solution, multiple solutions or no unique solutions.

I also studied linear algebra as part of a course on ordinary differential equations and the types of homogeneous solutions they generate. I studied the eigenvalue problem as a general method for finding natural frequencies and homogeneous solutions to applications of hyperbolic differential equations. The eigenvalue problems came up in many courses I took in graduate school.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's and PhD in Engineering Mechanics. I worked for several years in a research laboratory, where I applied my school knowledge to practical engineering problems. I also worked on the analysis of large aircraft and rocket structures at a major airplane manufacturer.

I have a PhD in Applied Physics and am credentialed to teach the subject. I offer a student the opportunity to access practical problems as a motivation to understand the complex theories of Physics. I am also a certified math teacher, which further enhances my ability to improve your performance in Physics.

As the math department chair of a California school I designed and taught Prealgebra. I specialize in making math meaningful to and fun for students through realistic applications. With me as your tutor you will be learning from a professional.

I taught all levels of high school math and as the department chair in a national blue ribbon school. I defined the curriculum of all our math courses from grade six through twelve. I have had enormous success with all types of learners. I am sure I can help your child.

I am fully qualified to tutor SAT math as I tutor in many math subjects from elementary math through calculus. My math education includes math subjects through graduate level ordinary and partial differential equations and complex variables. I am very familiar with the SAT Math test as I have helped many students study for the test. I typically improve scores from 50 - 100 points per test by applying automated interactive skill building with test practice.

I helped many students prepare for the SAT during the many years of my long teaching career. I have attended training sessions regarding the best test-taking strategies. My focus is on building basic skills, familiarizing students with the typical test questions and motivating students to make the necessary effort.

My teaching method is student-centered. I learn from watching students work and adjust my input to help the student organize his or her thinking.

I taught AP Statistics for several years and I used the academic SPSS package to support assignments. In addition I was the data analysis specialist at our school and I used SPSS to correlate student test scores with various independent variables. I also have a love of statistics since it forces students to think differently about mathematics and it provides them with direct real-world challenges.

I had a life long interest in statistics. I worked as a professional option trader for most of my adult life. This involved applying statistical concepts to random variables, commodity prices. I was a pioneer in this field as nobody had done this prior to myself and a few other mathematicians. At the high school where I taught, I instituted a statistics course that focused on the solution to practical problems. I approach statistics in an intuitive manner relying on visual representations to enhance an understanding of the problem being analyzed.

Trigonometry connects to a huge number of real-world problems. As an engineer and an experienced teacher I have been trained to make many of these connections. I find that I can make trigonometry enjoyable by providing realistic problems that every student can relate to. I use practical problems to motivate and to eliminate the unnecessary mystery that surrounds this advanced topic.

Furthermore, through experience teaching this subject many times, I am very familiar with the specific skills that challenge students and I know how to communicate these skills.
