In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught both introductory level and advanced level Chemistry courses at colleges/universities for decades, and served as a tutor at a tutoring center of a local college for 6 years before recent retirement. I have a broad background in science and math, which include algebra, calculus and physics, these subjects are essential that help students studying chemistry. I also have taught an environmental science course, an interdisciplinary course, in which one can find many applications of chemistry.
