In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I teach the youth/teenage ministry. I assist them with career development by helping them with find job opportunities that will capitalize on their interests, aptitudes, values, and skills. I guide them to sign up for job boards such as career builder, monster and jobs USA. I critique and assist with resume building for each student. I also guide students to sign up for temporary services in their area and conduct role-playing that will effectively ace an interview.

I have 5 years of assisting students prepare for exams. I have created several study strategies that taught students how to study smarter and not harder. I've created several pdf guides, presentations via Microsoft PowerPoint and web-based modules to help students effectively prepare and pass an exam. By breaking down the study materials into manageable sections it helped students comprehend the information given easier. For smaller children, I used flash cards and repetition of images to help them remember what they are studying.
To create an effective study guide, I would highlight the key points and go over them with the students. Sometimes reading the first sentence of each paragraphs gives the reader an idea of what each paragraph is about. I've created Powerpoint presentations using images and animations to keep students focused on the subject.
