I am a former English Language Arts teacher with over 30 years of experience instructing students in the areas of Reading and Language Arts. I am currently taking a break from my teaching position in order to allow myself time to complete the dissertation phase of my Doctorate Degree.
I am a highly motivated, dependable Individual who is skilled in improving the quality of my students' reading and writing abilities through the use of research-based diagnostic tools and instructional materials. I am an extremely patient teacher and enjoy working with students one on one as well as in small group settings. I am looking forward to assisting students who can benefit from my services as we work together to improve your Reading and Writing skills.
I have taught Reading and Writing for many years. I have a great deal of experience working with students one on one and have helped many of them achieve success and close achievement gaps in these areas. As a former English teacher, my students' scores in Writing were consistently ranked in the top 3% in the State of Georgia. I am capable of assisting students with ACT and SAT test prep along with writing college research and term papers. Of course, I am also willing to help elementary and middle school students who are struggling in the areas of Reading and Writing.
I am very eager to connect with students who could benefit from my knowledge base and skill level. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
