About Pam

I have taught as an adjunct instructor at a small liberal arts college and as a high school teacher. I had a very successful pass rate for students in writing instruction in particular. I have experience teaching a very broad range of subjects, but I consider myself to have greater expertise in literature, writing instruction, for all students and students with unique learning needs especially. I am very comfortable with delivering instruction in a variety of ways so that the learner can understand best. I received Special Education certification and taught in more than 16 subject areas at the high school level.

I had a 100% pass rate following an intensive writing remediation instruction that I delivered. I approach writing with ease and help the student to feel relaxed about a task that is often very frustrating.

As a Certified Special Education teacher with additional training regarding learning needs of students on the Autism Spectrum, I have 20+ years of experience accommodating the unique learning needs of students with hearing loss, intellectual ability.

I have a flexible schedule and want to continue to work with students enhancing the learning experience.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I was certified in Special Education through the state of Georgia. I received additional training regarding Autism spectrum disorders and served students with autism each semester that I taught.

Hard Of Hearing

My father has been hard of hearing all of my life. He received a cochlear implant three years ago. In addition, one of my children has a significant hearing loss and uses two hearing aids. As a special education teacher, in the classroom, I had to implement strategies to accommodate learner with hearing loss and a co-teacher who is deaf. I have a small repertoire of sign language. I do not indicate that I am a subject expert in hearing loss, but as it pertains to instructional delivery, I consider myself to be competent developing strategies to assist and accommodate a learner who is hard of hearing.
