I teach students to THINK like physicists!
I teach students to THINK like physicists!
Kimberly, 1 lesson with Randy
I am a High School Physics teacher, currently teaching AP Physics 1 & 2. In previous school years I have taught Mathematics (remedial to advanced, pre-algebra to calculus) and Computer classes specializing in Microsoft Office, Visual Basic, Java, and HTML.
My students perform at or above state and national averages on the AP Physics exam. I had the 3rd highest pass rate of any physics teacher in the state of Georgia for the 2015-16 AP Physics 1 exam.
In addition, I am a reader (i.e., grader) of the AP Physics Exam.
I teach as a passion. I'm glad I get paid (I have two children attending college), but the real motivation is moving just one student from confusion to clarity.
Here is what some of my former Physics/Math students have said,
"Mr S. is no doubt the smartest individual I have ever had teach a course that I have been in...yet he was the most patient and down to earth. He made it interesting and fun which in turn allowed me to learn more. I would take Mr. S. again in a heartbeat." [Tyler]
"It was a really interesting class and Mr. S. is a great teacher. He volunteered to help you whenever you need and whenever you have any question. I learned a lot from his class and I did really well in all my college Physics for Engineering classes. I love Mr. S. and I wish he would teach all the Physics classes in my future." [Logan]
"Learning Physics teaches you how to think. Mr. S. taught us how to use our minds to think critically in ways that I would have never before learned. I still use tips and tricks he taught us in my college classes, and honestly, sometimes it's the only way I can figure some of them out! All in all, it was my favorite class that I've ever taken. The lessons you learn in Mr S's class will more than likely stay with you forever and to some degree shape your life. It's because of him that I'm taking on a dual major in physics. Physics with Mr. S isn't just a class. If you listen to what he says and just try to appreciate and understand it, it can become a life experience." [Madison]
Great tutor, funny and kind. If I didn't understand the way he was showing me how to work a problem, he would rewrite it a different way to help me see the steps. He's super smart and really knows what he is talking about in trigonometry. I was super impressed because he showed up with his own identity sheet and can solve most of the problems in his head. He's flexible with his schedule and where you can meet. I would definitely recommend him and will be using him in the future.Kimberly, 1 lesson with Randy
Randy helped me clear up topics I wasn't too sure of and always made sure I was still following along and understanding the concepts. Great at explaining things and making them easy to understand.Andrea, 2 lessons with Randy
Knows how to explain physics!
Randy worked problems with me and taught me concepts on energy, Newton's 2nd law and circular motion! He was willing to work late with me and was very patient, making sure I understood the concepts! Will definitely be calling on him again!Joe, 2 lessons with Randy

Sold from the first lesson!
We've only used Randy for one session and will use him on a regular basis now. He was able to explain Physics in a way that my daughter was able to understand. Something other tutors haven't been able to do. He keeps it interesting for his students. I'm very confident Randy will help my daughter tremendously in her AP Physics class.Tony, 7 lessons with Randy
Randy is the best for tackling physics. He simplifies it in a way that is a new perspective to make it easier to understand.Andrew, 8 lessons with Randy
He did a great job explaining things to me, and I feel way more prepared for the math portion of the ACT!Alyson, 2 lessons with Randy
He has an excellent way of explaining physics concepts to my high school daughter - she has had 2 great, productive sessions with him.Susan, 5 lessons with Randy
