Hi! My name is Alicia. I am currently a Physical Science & Biology teacher at Central High School in Macon, GA for 9th - 12th graders. This is my 2nd year of teaching. I really enjoy my job & working with my students!
Previously, I was a research assistant at the Fort Valley State University where I worked with plants like Valeria, stevia, alfalfa, tobacco, and arundo donax. I helped in teaching Biotechnology classes that my boss offered. I conducted all the labs that went along with the Biotechnology classes.
I have a B.S. degree in Biology and a Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Environmental Science from the Fort Valley State University.
I have been tutoring children and adults in my neighborhood for the past 3 to 4 years. I tutor in several subjects.
I am capable of tutoring in the following areas: Algebra 1 and 2, Elementary Math, Prealgebra, Elementary Science, Physiology, Anatomy, Grammar, Proofreading, Spelling, Vocabulary, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel. I love helping children and other adults learn more and become more comfortable with the subject matter they are having problems with. My tutoring methods include doing practice worksheets and anything else that may be helpful in getting the student to understand the subject better. Hi! My name is Alicia. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am very capable of doing Microsoft Access. I have taken several computer courses that have involved the usage of Microsoft Access. I love working on computers and have tried to learn all that I can about them and the programs that run on them.
