I was born and raised in a small community in western New York. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy as a Communications Technician, I returned to college to pursue a degree in engineering. I chose Nuclear Engineering for the challenge and because it was of great interest to me. I worked as a nuclear engineer in a variety of projects and situations over the past 43 years that included mentoring of junior engineers, working as a senior instructor for nuclear plant operator licensees, and a series of design and management positions.

I provided tutoring services on and off during my career to high school and college students that were interested in mathematics and physics and used individual and unique strategies to obtain the best results for my students. It's are very rewarding experience to see someone who is struggling with a subject to suddenly have insight and understanding.

Mathematics was my minor while studying engineering. Math is an important part of engineering and science. Although the course work I took was many years ago, a significant amount of what I learned has been applied throughout my career.

The key attributes of a good tutor or instructor, in my opinion, are based in knowledge of the subject material, interest in seeing the student succeed, and a willingness to be patient and objective. Maturity is a great teacher of these attributes and I would be happy to help you with subject matter that seems to be just a little too much to comprehend. I think that you'll find yourself saying, "Wow! That wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was!" Contact me...we'll talk.
