Hi, I’m Tabatah! I’m native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. I’m able to tutor in both languages. I’m passionate about learning and helping others to accomplish their goals either in education or any other task. I was born and raised in the state of Santa Catarina, and as young teenager up until today, I love to travel, play volleyball, soccer, chess, but most of all, I enjoy a good conversation with friends and family.

In Brazil, for over one year I started teaching Basic English for children in Pre School in a classroom setting, in my lessons I used flash cards, books, music and movement that will help them to remember what we have learned for the day. I also volunteered for 1 year in church to tutor one-on-one students with low income that had difficulties to understand their homework assignments.

I have been living in United States for over 20 years now, I know how hard is to adapt and learn another language or any subject that we are not familiar with. I graduated with my Associates degree from Nassau Community College, NY with Athlete Academic Achievement Award, had invitation to participate in honors classes, and I was Vice President of “El Club de Español”. Got accepted into Queens College, NY where I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. I was fortunate enough to have traveled to many cities and countries that speak Spanish like Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Costa Rica, Mexico and Nicaragua. With the cultural diversity I’m able to understand and communicate well with natives. I’m confident in tutoring Spanish, not only because I have a degree on it, but also I was exposed to different dialects of the Spanish language, which it makes a big difference when someone is only expose inside of a classroom.

Most of my experience was with young children, but with my knowledge I feel qualified to work with Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1. I am First Aid/CPR certified by American Red Cross. I take pride in my ability to plan and organize. Let
