Georgia Institute of Technology (Industrial Engineering)
Hello, my name is Keath M. and I am very much interested in being your tutor. I grew up in the Peachtree City, GA area and graduated from Starrs Mill High School in 2007. Following high school, I attended the The Georgia Institute of Technology studying in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
I have always had a natural inclination to the world of academia. With this I have found a passion and desire to teach others the things I know in academia. Throughout high school and college, I tutored multiple students in various subjects. This included but was not limited to general K-12 curriculum, ACT prep, SAT prep and EOCT testing. I tutor using the methods taught to the students by their instructors as well as using my own methods. I am able to connect with and understand the students difficulties in learning different subjects. My unique perspective, in never having been a teacher by trade, allows me to understand and reach students in a way they never have been taught before. I find that every student learns differently and these differences need to be addressed in order for the student to gain understanding and mastery in the concept. I focus not on achieving the correct answer but on the process by which to get there. I find that focusing on the process allows students to grasp a deeper understanding of the concepts being taught. So I will use worksheets, workbooks, textbooks and real-life examples to help others gain understanding of the subject. Whatever it takes to understand the process of achieving the right answer is what I will do.
Beyond the world of academia I am also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do certified by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (the governing body of international Tae Kwon Do). I have instructed in this martial art and provided private lessons for students wishing to advance their level of mastery in Tae Kwon Do.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any questions.
I look forward to being your tutor. Thank you for the opportunity.

Keath M. is an excellent tutor and very easy to get in touch with, even for last minute tutoring emergencies! Makes the students feel comfortable and explains things well. As a parent arranging the tutoring, he is very easy to work with and tries to make himself available as often as needed. I definitely recommend him!
Since studying w Keath, our daughter's grades are consistent high Bs & As in physics, which is not her strong subject. He can get material to "click" instantly with his teaching style. I highly recommend Keath!
My daughter exclaimed after her session "it feels great to finally understand". She appreciated the manner in which Keath presented the material. I'm pleased with the progress she's making with her tutoring secessions.
We feel very fortunate to have found Keath to help our daughter with SAT preparation. She attends a bilingual school in France and we had quite specific needs, especially in math and a very limited time frame. With these constraints, Keath put together a series of lessons which greatly boosted her skills and confidence. We appreciated Keath's fun yet focused approach and his ability to tailor the lessons to our daughter's needs. She liked how he didn't impose his way of thinking on her and respected the way that she worked. He always showed interest in how she personally arrived at an answer. In spite of it being summer holidays, she never felt bored but genuinely enjoyed the lessons. Keath was always professional, prompt, courteous, relaxed and flexible with times and locations. We would highly recommend Keath's services to a friend and would definitely request him in the future.
I learned about sigma notation from Keath. He patiently went through each step and even gave me the opportunity to do it by myself. Afterwards, he checked my work and patiently guided me to the next portion of the problem.
Geometry- Arc and angles. His tutoring style was simple. He was very patient and committed to teaching in the manner that I learned best. Better understanding of math.
Our test is coming up this weekend. Keith has been very accommodating w schedules. My son has improved by 5 points on pre-test that has been given. Crossing fingers for ACT.
My daughter has had 2 lessons with Keith so far. He is working with her to raise her ACT score. He has found her 'weakness' and is currently helping her on that part of the ACT. He has been punctual and daughter states she enjoys and is learning (from Keith).
I believe after the first session Keath made a difference in our student's understanding of the subject they were working on. Keath is polite and very helpful. He worked well with our student. We're having him back.
UPDATE: The second tutor session went very well. Smooth and very helpful for the student. It's well worth having the sessions. We should have started the last 9 week.
UPDATE: Now we have had three sessions and am still very pleased with Keith M for a tutor. He seems interested in the student understanding. He's patient and quiet. He seems to be just what our student needs at this time.
Keath did a great job working with our son on Algebra. He did more than just TELL him...he helped pull out of him the knowledge that he already had but wasn't sure how to apply it. Keath is very friendly and easy for my son to work with. He also is very knowledgeable in the subject matter. We also appreciate his willingness to meet at our home and at various times due to my son's tight schedule with school, sports, church, etc.
Keath M. is easy to correspond and communicate with for both the parent and student. I was so pleased with his quick response to our request for a tutor. Keath seems to be very organized, neat, and professional as well. Those are characteristics that are beneficial to us all and especially helpful if you're tutoring a student. Although we've only had one tutoring session with Keath, our son said Keath's ability to break things down and make complicated issues easier to understand was a tremendous help. We will definitely continue using Keath!!
I am so thankful we have found Keath as a tutor. My son is continuing to progress in his understanding of Advanced Algebra and Physics, due to Keath's support and ability to communicate so effectively during the tutoring sessions.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
5+ years tutoring Algebra 2
I completed a course in linear algebra as part of my coursework at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Georgia Tech differs from other universities in that the Algebra 2 course is combined with the Calculus 3 course and taken as one subject. I successfully completed this course.
I am Black Belt level TaeKwonDo instructor with the Bllack Belt certified through the Kukkiwon World TaeKwonDo Federation. I have taught martial arts for the past 8 years and currently have several students that I tutor on a regular basis in TaeKwonDo. Many of my students have reached the rank of Black Belt under my tutelage.
