A passion to reach all students, my goal is to help students learn by understanding that we all learn differently. Together your elementary school student and I will discover what methods work best for them. While working to overcome current challenge areas, we'll create techniques and strategies your student will be able to implement to prevent future struggles. I specialize in chidlren with all types of learning disabilities, elementary general curriculum and study skills. I believe in a multi-discipline approach to learning that incorporates and develops as a student's depth of knowledge increases.

In just one session with Amy I have great hope for my 6th grader's future. Amy set small milestones to ensure success with my child. She is clear, concise and offers innovative ways to tackle reading and writing. Her patience and encouragement was great for my child and their session was brilliant and appreciated.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold a GA teaching certificate in Special Education General Curriculum. I have taught children in with all disabilities for 5+ years. During this time I have worked with students with all 3 classifications of ADHD. (Hyperactivity, Inattentive, and Combination)
Currently I teach Special Education in the Elementary School Setting. I am certified in both General Curriculum Special Education and Elementary Grade Curriculum through the state of Georgia.
State certified to teach Early Childhood Education and General Curriculum Special Education, I currently teach in the Elementary school setting through co-teach, collaborative and separate class settings. I am Orton Gillingham trained in phonics.
I currently hold a Georgia Teaching Certificate for K-12 General Curriculum Special Education and K-5 Early Childhood Education. I have taught Special Education in the Georgia School Systems for the past 5 years.
Study skills affects every aspect of a child's school career. As a teacher I believe it is part of my responsibility to help children develop the organizational skills needed to assist them in the learning processes.
