About Jessica

I am a mother of two children. I have an Associate's Degree in Business Administration working on Bachelor's in Psychology and then working on Bachelor's and Master's in Business. I believe that our children are our future. We must teach them well and let them lead the way. (quote from Whitney Houston's song, "Greatest love of all.") Our greatest love should be reflected in our children and our encouragement of their abilities. Lesson availability will be determined via WyzAnt email. I am a mother of two children. Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ASVAB

I had taken the ASVAB as a high school student in which I received the highest score for females in my class. I recently explored the idea of entering the military and had to re-test for the ASVAB and again score very high. I am willing to teach the knowledge that I have to assist others in improving their ASVAB scores.

Business

I have five plus years of combined experience in the business field. I have an Associate's degree in Business Administration. I have also retained my course books for references in supervisory management, business law, accounting principles, and economics.

Career Development

I have extensive knowledge and training in assisting others in determining their career desires. I can help with cover letters, broadcast letters, and resumes. I have some background and a business friend to guide us in networking. I have several ideas of getting known in the employment arena.

Cooking

Mother of two with years of experience of keeping her family feed. I have learned many different things about nutrition over the years in which I'm willing to share. However, learning to cook properly is only half the battle.

Phonics

I have experience teaching phonics to my own children who are both excellent readers. I have taken courses geared towards working with children with exceptional needs. I have a background in psychology which will be an asset to me in determining the best possible way to help improve the student's phonics abilities. I have an excellent personal vocabulary and believe on improving my vocabulary daily.

Study Skills

Study skills are the cornerstone for a successful education. Notetaking, organizational skills, and reading skills are the basis for study skills. Techniques to combine these skills to make sense of the course you are sudying is where individuals struggle because every person learns in a different way.

My years of being a student have provided me with the experience of learning how to develop specific skills to met my study needs and my way of learning. In college, I tutored peers in developing study skills to help them improve their understanding, thus developing knowledge, and improving their grades.
