About Richard

Bio

I have spent the past 26 years working at two major media companies as a writer, editor, producer and operations manager. I have managed small and large staffs and have developed very good communication skills. I have also coached girls softball at the high school level, travel baseball and basketball for almost 35 years so I get along very well with kids, relate to them and consider myself a mentor to them. I also have three boys of my own.

I specialize in reading, writing, grammar and public speaking. If your child wants to learn how to read and write better I am 100 percent sure I can help. If they need help learning vocabulary words I can help with that as well. I have also given many speeches in my time and certainly understand how kids can be nervous delivering them. I can help your child feel more confident by giving them the tools they need to be successful.

I have a quiet space at home where we can work and can occasionally travel to another location if that is more convenient.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your school work.

Guitar

I started play guitar when I was 9 years old because my father also played. I have continued to play for 42 years and still play three to four times a week. I took lessons from my dad and another man but have pretty much taught myself. I am very good at rhythm guitar and do not play lead. I can read music and play by ear. I can play electric guitar and acoustic guitar as well. I currently teach my 11 year old and he is steadily improving. I am very patient!

Sports/Recreation

Baseball,

Baseball

I am the head travel baseball coach for my 12-year-old son and was an assistant on a team for my now 15-year-old son. Our team this past season won 25 games and finished 6th out of 20 teams in the World Series at Panama City. I am good with kids and very good at teaching the fundamentals. I also coached girls softball for over 15 years including three as a community coach at a High School.
Basketball

Basketball

I have coached my three sons in basketball for 10 years in Cobb County and that includes being a head coach for seven seasons and an assistant for many others. I am good at teaching basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, layups, free throw shooting and how to correctly play defense.
