Based on my personal experiences, I know that all students have the capabilities of learning. Every student have TAG (Talented And Gifted Students) qualities and more if given the opportunity to learn. After working in education, in classrooms and as a tutor for over twenty years, I have learned the importance of communication, understanding, and having the patience to work with students who have behavior and learning disorders.
As a child, my background was very challenging and because of that I taught myself how to achieve a High School to Juris Doctorate degree. For twenty four years I have taught students as well as adults with both learning disabilities and behavioral disorders. I teach from kindergarten to third grade how to spell and read on a sixth grade level. I also teach students how to transition from conventional learning to traditional learning according to the Ga. standards..
My passions are building confidence, teaching and helping students to realize their self-worth and academic capabilities. My beliefs are very strong when it comes to education, I know that everyone can learn. It is important for them to realize they are our future doctors, lawyers, senators as well as our non-professional productive citizen.
The greatest gift to me is to see the student who feel they can't or don't know how to make it graduate mentally and academically from high school then to college with honors. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
