University of Georgia (Philosophy and Political Science)
Hi, my name is Meng, and my English name is Elena. I grew up in Shenzhen, which is a place near Hong Kong in China, and I moved to the U.S. about seven years ago with my family. I went to Georgia Perimeter College, and I was on the Dean's List. I also took Honors course, and I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa, which is an honor society, and Mu Alpha Theta, which is a mathematics honor society. Then I transferred and got my double majors in Philosophy and Political Science at UGA. I'm also a member of the Golden Key Honors Society at UGA. My plan is to enroll in the Pre-Law program. I speak Mandarin, Cantonese, English, as well as a little French and Japanese. I'm still studying French and Japanese. The highest math I did was Calculus II, and I finished all my math courses with A's. I'm really good at the math that I've already learned. I work part time to pay for my tuition and future plans. I love to learn different languages. My other interests include politics, animals, cooking, tennis, psychology, math, and comedies. I only teach the subjects that I'm really good at, so that I know I will do well on helping someone else to understand them. I'm also a nice person with great patience. I am planning to attend law school in Fall, 2016. Right now I am interning in a law firm during my gap year as well as tutoring to save up my tuition and living expenses. Since I won't be able to tutor everyday, my students can also e-mail me if they have important questions, and I will try my best to answer them. Hi, my name is Meng, and my English name is Elena. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I grew up in Shen Zhen, China, which is a city near Hong Kong, before I moved to the States with my mom about 4 years ago. I speak both Mandarin and Cantonese. I am confident to say that my Mandarin is perfect. I look forward to helping you improve your Chinese!
