Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I am qualified to teach or tutor Business courses or classes. I was a Graduate tutor teaching Undergraduate students in various Business classes, helping students with their assignments, grading examination papers, and filing in for Professors. Aside from my B.Sc Degree in Accounting (summa cum laude honor), and Masters Degree in Finance (magna cum laude honor), I had 7 years with IBM, the most recent position as Senior Financial Analyst preparing Business and Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Profit and Loss, Decisions regarding hiring, payments, purchasing, etc. My additional Business experience is highlighted during my 9 years with Emory during which I managed many positions and progressed into the Executive Director position managing 2 Departments, 10 hospital locations, over $15 million operational budget, Business decisions, Hiring, Training, Revenue, Expenses, Grants, Clinical Trials, Direct reports of 8 managers, over 500 doctors, Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, and Executive Management.

Career Development

I am very qualified to teach or advise on Career Development. In my previous job positions as a President/CEO of a Non-Profit, Executive Director and Head of 2 departments supporting 2 Chairmen, and managing 8 Managers, and indirect employees of 379, I have been involved in hiring both Paid Employees, and Volunteers. At Emory, I was in charge of Hiring Medical Doctors, Managers, Accountants and Financial Analysts, etc...

I have done Resume review, job description review, Employee evaluation, Job search, job posting, interview, and interview skills. I was a Volunteer Career Advisor for the School of Public Health at Emory advising Graduate Student on "How to find jobs", preparing Graduate students for interviews, matching them with companies such as PWC, KPMG, and others.
My background or career spans across Accounting, Finance, Computer Administration, Law and Contracts, Executive Management, Budgeting, Clinical Trial Management, Hospital Administration, Taxes, Residency Program, Project Management, Human Resources, Software Development, Mentorship, Volunteer Work, Auditing, Process Improvement, Non-Profit, Fund-raising, Business Plan, Strategic Plan, Federal and State Grants, Negotiation, Community Partnership, and many more. I am the Consummate Career Development Guru.

Economics

I am very qualified to teach or tutor Economics, and Applied Economics. To start with, I was a Graduate Tutor in college providing tutorial help to undergraduate students in various subjects such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, etc., assisting professors to grade examination papers, and filling in for Professors during absences. My educational background strongly supports my qualification - I have a B.Sc Degree in Accounting with Summa Cum Laude honor, and a Master's degree in Finance with Magna Cum Laude honor. My college coursework included at least 24 hours of Economics - MicroEconomics, MacroEconomics, Managerial Economics, Business Statistics I, Business Statistics II, Money and Banking I, Money and Banking 2, Money and Capital Market to mention few.
Economics can be abstract if students don't have someone who can really simplify it for them. This is where my over 20 years of real-life, practical work experience comes into great use. My 7 years with IBM where I ended as Senior Financial Analyst comes handy to explain Economic concepts i.e. Demand and Supply, Elasticity, Prices, various Markets, and many more while my 9 years of experience at Emory (last position as Executive Director) can be drawn upon when it comes to applying Economic principles to decision-making in Budgeting, Revenue, Expenses of over 120 million, Purchasing, Payments, Training, Hiring, Managing 10 Hospital locations, over 500 Medical doctors, Fundraising, supporting 2 Department Chairmen, etc.
I look forward to tutoring, and to making learning Economics fun for the Students.

Finance

I humbly submit to you that I am highly qualified to teach or tutor Finance at any level up to graduate level. The foundation to understanding Finance is Accounting of which I graduated with a GPA of 3.80. Finance is my specialty, and passion. Finance was one of the subjects I taught to undergraduate students while I was a graduate Tutor in college. I graded examinations paper, conducted examinations, filled in for Professors during their absences. I enjoy teaching Finance, and my affinity for the subjects is highlighted by my GPA of 3.77, a Magna Cum Laude Honor achieved during my Masters in Finance Program. Finance courses I have taken and passed include Business Finance, Intermediate Financial Management, International Business, Financial Management and Policy, International Finance, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, and Money and Capital Markets to mention few examples.
Finance consists of industry jargon such as Return on Investment (ROI), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and this jargon comes with highly complex calculations, and theories. This is where my over 20 years of real-life, practical work experience comes into great use. My 7 years with IBM where I ended as Senior Financial Analyst comes handy to simplify this complex jargon, and analysis while my 9 years of experience at Emory (last position as Executive Director) can be drawn upon when it comes to applying Finance to decision-making in Buying or Selling, Investing, Mergers & Acquisition, Valuation, Valuation Methods, Capital Expenditures, Leveraged Buyouts, Cash Flow Analysis, and many more.

Excellent Tutor!

Ray stepped in toward the end of my semester in Managerial Accounting at Georgia Tech. It was a very difficult class, and he helped ensure that I got a B rather than a C. He was there for me when I needed him. Ray was willing to go above and beyond to make sure that I understood the material. He walked me through challenging problems step-by-step. I would definitely recommend Ray to any other stud
