About Zahra

I have been tutoring for over 25 years. I have had students from the aged 6 to adults. Having the perfect student/teacher relationship is necessary, because the student must feel comfortable around the teacher. The teacher must pace also him/herself to the student's learning level.

I mainly tutor in English. This consists of reading, writing and spelling. I also have worked as a tutor for students learning English as a Second Language.

I have received certification in Adult Basic Literacy Skills. I also can tutor in all general subjects for elementary children. I have been teaching steadily over the past two years, educating students in grades K-5. Please contact me if you are interested in my services. I am able to be flexible to your scheduling needs.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have received my bachelors degree in Early Childhood. Now, I am a certified Georgia teacher for grades K-5. Also, I am certified as a Middle School Language Arts teacher.

Phonics

I have complete training in Phonics. I am graduated with a Early Childhood bachelors degree. I have passed all of the GACE testing.

Study Skills

Study Skills

I believe that hard, difficult subjects can be put to ease by having
good study skills. Repeating good study skills can form them into a habit
for the student to keep with them throughout their school years. There are many
aspects on how to create good study skills. Before anyone can begin, they must
know exactly how does the student learn. When the way the student learns is
figured out then the next step is just to apply the different learning techniques
for the student to follow.
The student should understand how they are learning the needed
information by reading, writing, speaking,or by using a combination of them.
Taking heed of the environment around them and the way they are studying,
can have an impact on if the information is sinking in and being retained.
They should have their own unique way of taking notes that will make it
easier for them to recall what they have read or heard. Also, their note
taking needs to be understood at a later date for review.
I am very confident that I personally have good study skills. I have
shared this information with all of my prior students. In each and every
one, I have witnessed their change and their surprise as well, to find
out what they had thought would be hard was indeed easy and a success.

Very Good Insight — Zahra seems to have identified a starting point to help Trey move beyond challenges he has experienced in reading. I am hopeful that she will be able to unlock his ability to become a great reader. I like that Zahra took the initiative to review the website that I had given her to learn more about the curriculum his school uses to help give him a jump start of what he will be learning once schoo ...
