I'm Terukimi, and I'm currently attending William's College as a Physics/CS major! Connecting with the youth through tutoring has always been a passion of mine. Since I was a freshman in high school, I have tutored elementary-age children learning addition/subtraction up to high schoolers learning AP Calculus BC. With each new student, I gained a new appreciation for teaching. Each child has their own unique propensity to learn and absorb information, and I aim to draw that passion out through specialized lesson plans and engaging practice that emphasizes problem-solving skills. Usually, I start with a broad overview of any new concepts that I plan on teaching before focusing on the detailed explanation of each concept, providing supplemental example problems throughout each explanation and expanding upon the applications/expectations for any future courses or standardized exams (usually AP exams, SAT, etc.).

I have over three years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects. I first started by tutoring young children of family friends with basic math operations, and eventually began tutoring high-school students as I explored volunteering opportunities around my community. Specifically, through organizations such as Teen Tutor Teens, I was able to engage with youth across the county as I tutored online in both writing and physics/chemistry. Although navigating "Zoom-mediated tutoring" was difficult at first, I am now comfortable accommodating my style of teaching on an online platform. Additionally, I tutor students in my school's National Honor Society chapter. Whether face-to-face or via Zoom, I tutor students who are struggling to keep up with the pace of their class so that they can gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed academically.

With tutoring, my students' success and comfort are my number one priorities, so any suggestions or accommodations are more than welcome. Feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or wonderments, and I'll be sure to reply as soon as possible!

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have taken college level maths since sophomore year of high school (5 on AP Calculus BC exam). I then dual enrolled my junior and senior years at Georgia Tech, receiving A’s in courses like Multivariable calculus, Linear Algebra, and Applied Combinatorics. I have also tutored in algebra and calculus to high school students in the past.
Calculus

Calculus

I took AP Calculus BC in my sophomore year of high school (5 on the Calc BC exam with a 5 AB subscore) and was awarded the fall semester award for academic excellence in calculus. I then dual-enrolled for Georgia Tech in my junior and senior years through the Distance Math program, receiving A's in courses such as Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Applied Combinatorics. At the same time, I also tutored AP Calculus students at my high school, both through Zoom sessions and in-person tutoring, so I am well-equipped for my student's tutoring needs.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I took high-school chemistry in my freshman year, receiving a nomination from my teacher for the Governor Honors Program in the sciences. I continued my passion for chemistry throughout my high school career and am currently an organic chemistry lab intern at a local university (400+ hours of experience). I took AP Chemistry in my senior year of high school, with my teacher awarding me with the fall semester award for academic achievement across all her classes. At the same time, I have been tutoring chemistry since my sophomore year to tutees across the county over Zoom.
Physics

Physics

I am a current physics major pursuing my Bachelor’s, receiving A’s in every class thus far (Modern Physics, Mathematical Physics, E&M, Waves & Vibrations). I have also conducted physics research at my home institution and recently at Yale.
