I have more than 40 years of teaching experience. Teaching is my passion! I have experienced the joys and rewards of connecting with students and supporting them in their learning processes. My current philosophy of teaching has developed from my experiences as a learner and a teacher. The key principles that guide my teaching practice are valuing students as individuals and creating a positive, active learning environment. I am always willing to go an extra mile to help my students. I have taught hundreds of students during my teaching years either on a one to one basis or in classrooms.

Piano has been with me all my life. I started learning it when I was 5 years all and I fell in love with it. So much that I decided to become a musician and a teacher. That's why I studied both my Bachelor and my Master in Music specializing in Piano. Since I graduated in 1978 I went back to my country and began teaching Piano at two important Music Conservatories in Caracas, Venezuela; in one “Juan Manuel Olivares”, teaching Piano majors; and in the other “Juan José Landaeta”, teaching Piano minors (1978-1992). In 1986 I started teaching at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas (UPEL-IPC), where I became a Full Time Professor in the Art Department until 2009 when I retired.

Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson so you can enjoy the pleasure of learning Piano. I will always provide fast responses

Great piano tutor

Rebecca is great. She comes prepared for each lesson with a plan and gives homework. Of course she is very knowledgeable about the piano and music theory. Book you’re lessons with her.

Bryan, 11 lessons with Rebeca

Knowledgeable, articulate and very patient instructor.

Correct piano seating position; precise thumb and fingers placement; learning note lines and spaces. Assigned practice that is not overwhelming. I felt very comfortable with my instructor.

Lenora, 16 lessons with Rebeca

Patient and thoughtful

Working with twins is no easy task, but Rebeca was patient and thoughtful in her approach to building my girls’ Spanish. vocabulary. We are looking forward to additional lessons. Thank you!
