As a seasoned artist and teacher, I bring to the table over 25 years of experience and an exceptionally strong track record of success in design compositions, coaching/mentoring and organizational leadership. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. Soon after my college days, I was drawn into exploring the realms of art and literature. I felt academia was a suitable environment to do so and I found Yaba College of Technology, School of Art & Design in Lagos just right for me. I taught Drawing, Painting and History of African Art, sharing ideas and techniques with both students and fellow art teachers for 25 years. In those years, I am proud to have keenly supervised students’ terminal projects, many of whom have adopted and developed the skills learned, to express their art.

Over the 35 years of my engagement in art, I have had several successful art exhibitions and commissions both in my home country and abroad.

My approach to teaching the techniques of drawing is to start from simple forms. Nature is usually my reference point. In the rendition of any subject matter, I encourage my students to explore the drawing technique that they find best suited to express their perception of the subject. I find it helpful when the student is comfortable with the technique being used.

As a retired college professor, I come with a mindset of engaging myself to different challenges in a different environment and situations.
Patience, the desire to share knowledge and skills, as well as open-mindedness have been the guiding principles of my philosophy towards teaching. Nature is the platform for my relationship with art, specifically drawing and painting, which I communicate with my audience using various media, such as oil on canvas, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal etc.

I look forward to working with you and nurturing your talent to the fullest!

Drawing

I am a retired college Art professor, holder of a BA in Fine Art, who has spent thirty years teaching students Drawing and Painting techniques. Employing nature as my point of reference, I rely on traditional methods to introduce my students to the basics of drawing before venturing into more complex styles. I also find drawing therapeutic for both the student and the teacher.
Painting

Painting

I am a retired college Art professor, holder of a BA in Fine Art, who has spent thirty years teaching students Drawing and Painting techniques. Using the color wheel as my foundation to understanding the application of color in a composition, I take my students on a journey of exploration of ideas which will solidify their appreciation. Painting is like a composition in music, in which I see emotions; excitement, warmth, serenity, sadness and joy.
