I am passionate about helping others achieve their educational goals in life. I have acquired in-depth content knowledge, having earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences, MBA degree, and a graduate degree in Philosophy. I have served as a teacher in the public school system and personally conduct seminars for both youth and adults on developing better study skills and on setting goals. My strength is helping students learn in an easy and efficient manner.
I specialize in helping students become proficient in Math and Science, to excel in the classroom as well as on exams such as the GED, SAT, GMAT, GRE and MCAT. As the former educational director for a non-profit, I have helped numerous individuals successfully earn their GED and pass other exams to further their educational goals. I teach not only content, but also the all-important critical thinking skills necessary to excel in the classroom and on standardized exams. I am particularly skilled at identifying a student’s style of learning and tailoring my tutoring methods accordingly. Additionally, I help students overcome the mental roadblocks that sometimes are a hindrance to their success.
My standards for tutoring are high. I provide the opportunity for students to offer regular feedback and will provide an initial consultation for students. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, yet with the option for makeup classes. I work with students to find a flexible place of study that will enhance their learning whether at the library, school, or home. I am willing to travel to a place that is convenient for the student.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
