Kennesaw State University
Hello my name is Major
I am currently a Senior at Kennesaw State University pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I really enjoy teaching and have always had a heart for students. I feel there is nothing else I would rather do than teach.
My experience has always been in the classroom. I graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College with my Associate's in Early Childhood Education. There I took multiple classes on education theory and classroom management. I spent my last semester there in an internship in a 2nd grade classroom for two months.
I have experience in tutoring reading and writing. Through classes at Kennesaw State, I have tutored students in 2nd grade and 5th grade. I have vast knowledge on how to teach language arts to elementary students. I know concepts and strategies behind phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. I know about differentiated instruction and how to tutor students that have different learning styles and those who are on different reading levels.
I currently just took my Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) exam to become a certified reading specialist. I am currently student teaching in my last year of college. I am in a 4th grade classroom learning about all the different things about becoming a teacher. I will graduate in May 2013.
These are just the many things I am doing. I enjoy tutoring in reading. Hello my name is Major

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
