Coppin State University (Business Management)
Hello, My name is Lonnie and I am originally from New Jersey. I attended grade school and high school in the state of NJ. My education continued at Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD. I received academic and athletic scholarship offers to multiple schools and finally decided on Coppin State College. I enrolled in their honors program and majored in management science which is more formally known as business administration.
Aside from academics, I have always enjoyed sports. My first love is wrestling, but I also played soccer and baseball at a very high level. Once my playing days were over so to speak, I became a youth coach for soccer and wrestling back in NJ. I have coached for over five years now and I love every chance I get to teach the sports and be around the kids having fun.
I have always found education and learning fun and I intend to do my best to make it fun for others. My teaching style is laid-back, but very focused. I like to get a sense for how each student or athlete processes information and then approach them in whatever manner is best for them to learn what is being taught. I will admit I am about results and not teaching a specific process. Everyone does not learn the same or process information the same so everyone obviously cannot be taught the same. I have young kids of my own and I know from firsthand experience with them that you have to be able to adapt to different learning styles with different teaching styles. I always try my best to make learning fun, or at minimum enjoyable. I understand many people do not relate fun with learning, but in many cases that is the missing ingredient or piece to the puzzle. Kids like fun and parents like results and I am willing to do what is necessary to make both parties happy. I look forward to meeting and helping many many students to see not only the importance in learning, but the fun in it also! Hello, My name is Lonnie and I am originally from New Jersey. I will do discount rates for multiple students at once or for a predetermined number of multiple hours with a single child.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I started playing the sport of soccer when I was six years old. I continued to play all the way through high school receiving multiple scholarship offers to play collegiately. I have coached youth soccer teams for almost five years as a volunteer.
English, reading, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing are my strong suits. I regularly write internet blogs and reviews, assist high school and college students with research papers and it happens to be my favorite subject. I have a bachelor's degree from Coppin State University and references if requested.
